These cosmetic-grade jojoba beads are made from jojoba esters derived from jojoba seed oil and formed into smooth, free-flowing microspheres. Unlike harsher exfoliants with irregular or sharp edges, jojoba beads provide a smooth spherical exfoliating particle suitable for a variety of rinse-off bath and body formulations.

Our 28/60 mesh jojoba beads are finer than our standard 20/40 mesh beads, making them an excellent choice when a smaller, more refined exfoliating particle is desired.
Because mesh numbers work opposite of what you might expect, a higher mesh number represents a smaller particle. The 28/60 size contains particles ranging from approximately 250 microns (#60 sieve) up to 600 microns (#28 sieve).

The amount used depends on the desired appearance and level of exfoliation.
For beginners, we recommend starting with a small amount and gradually increasing until the desired appearance and exfoliating effect is achieved.
FORMULATION & TEMPERATURE INFORMATION
Jojoba beads are wax-based microspheres and are sensitive to heat.
Melting Point: 67–71°C / approximately 153–160°F
Do not add the beads to a formulation while the base is excessively hot. Temperatures approaching the melting range can soften, distort, or melt the microspheres.
For best results, allow your formulation to cool sufficiently before incorporating the beads while still ensuring the base remains workable.
When used in some melt-and-pour bases, balms, or similar products, jojoba beads may migrate or float during cooling. Layering or adding the beads at a cooler temperature may help achieve the desired distribution.
Always bench test a small batch first.
COLOR STABILITY
Color stability can vary depending on the finished formulation.
Some pigments may be unstable in low-pH formulations or when exposed to concentrated ingredients such as acids, alkalis, or surfactants.
Because every formulation is different, we strongly recommend testing a small batch for color stability, compatibility, suspension, and overall appearance before producing larger quantities.

Shelf Life: 2 years when properly stored.
For best quality:
- Store in a cool, dry place.
- Keep container tightly closed.
- Protect from direct sunlight.
- Keep away from excessive heat and sources of ignition.
- For shelf-life purposes, store below 35°C / 95°F.
